On the schedule for the penultimate evening of this trip there has been a placeholder labeled “Kojo’s surprise”. The joke has been that we’re all going to a stinky tofu factory, but the intrigue has only increased the questions and speculation about what it might be. Tonight we all got the answer and boy was it amazing!

We’re here. It’s the fanciest hotel in Taiwan (according to Kojo), The Grand Hotel, and their renowned buffet!

It did not disappoint. Everyone found something they loved. Crab legs, sushi bar, cold-smoked salmon, clams, dumplings, roast beef and so much more that I didn’t even make it to.

They even had a full DIY Häagen-Dazs bar with waffle cones!

We spent almost 2 hours there. I am so stuffed, but I think Donovan killed at least 14 plates! Afterwards we explored the hotel to walk it off while we waited for the bus to arrive.

Only one more day left. I can’t believe that time has flown by so quickly. I’m not ready to jump back into the real world.
