Shuangcheng Street Night Market

About 10 of us walked over to our nearest night market tonight to see what it’s all about. They had about 60 vendors with everything from fruit juice to chicken testicles (I went for the fruit juice).

Hadley was handing out fried sweet potato balls that were so good. Crispy outside, but chewy in the middle like mochi. I had to go order another bag.

Frying up a fresh batch

Tygan and Lincoln opted for a skewer bar where you throw anything into a metal bowl and they bbq it for you.

Waiting

It’s gonna be a long day tomorrow. We have to be out the door by 7am to head to the high school. They’re throwing a welcome ceremony for us, and then I think the students will shadow their partners in classes the rest of the day. We’ll be back by dinner.

Tonight’s bonus game show content: This time it was an American Idol-style singing contest. This contestant sang a song that was entirely in mandarin, except for the chorus which went “Happy Happy Searchin’” over and over again. It was very catchy. I don’t know what she was singing about. I really have to go to sleep…
