Snacks & Drinks

Convenience stores, supermarkets, and roadside carts surround us at every turn with every possible kind of snack food. I could spend all day trying to decode what each of these flavors are.

If you order beer at a restaurant you always get the same “Taiwan Beer” brand. It’s always served with really tiny cups (2oz?). I’m told it’s because of the Chinese tradition of toasting at the table during which you’re supposed to drink everything after each toast. Things could get crazy if the cups were any bigger 🙂

In supermarkets I’ve found Heineken, Budweiser, and just a few Japanese beers like this one that reminds me of 10 Barrell’s Pub Beer:

Let’s bar!

The Japanese “Hello Kitty”-style cutesy design esthetic is everywhere. I’ve seen it used on subway instructions, bathroom signs and more. It was funny seeing it on bottles in a liquor store. Check out this cute bottle of margarita with scuba diving cats on it!:

They even have cute cat mascots in the subway telling you how to fight if $h!t gets real:

Bonus:

One person dives on a pile of balloons. A blindfolded teammate guesses how many “pops” they heard.
